DSHS confirms 1 case of West Nile fever in Lubbock County

LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -

The Texas Department of State Health Services has confirmed that one person in Lubbock County has West Nile fever.

West Nile fever is the milder form of West Nile virus.

West Nile fever is transmitted by mosquitos, so DSHS wants to remind everyone to take precautions and use repellent that contains Deet and drain any standing water that might be in your yard.
