Fatal motorcycle accident kills man in Tangipahoa Parish

HAMMOND, LA (WVUE) -

A Mississippi man was killed this morning after riding his motorcycle into the back of a car on I-12.

State Police say Larry Seemann of Osyka, Miss. was riding his 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on I-12 near mile marker 38 around 12:45 a.m. on Aug. 30 when, for reasons under investigation, he failed to stop and struck the back of a car.

The accident caused Seemann to lose control of his motorcycle and he was ejected. Seemann was fatally wounded in the crash and pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say Seemann was wearing a non-approved helmet at the time of the crash. Toxicology tests are pending.

The driver of the car, 38-year-old Marlo Green of Missouri City, Texas, was not injured in the accident and impairment is not suspected on his part.

The crash remains under investigation.
