Texas Tech will be "shining through the night" Friday.
That's the theme for the 46th annual "Carol of Lights. Wreaths are in place and 25,000 lights are strung around 13 buildings on the Texas Tech campus. On Friday night, the switch will be thrown to illuminate the campus.
The event starts at 6:30 with the Carillon concert. At 7:00, the Saddle Tramps torch light processional will begin at the University seal and follow the luminaire-lighted route around Memorial Circle. Once Texas Tech is lit, the "lighting ceremony" moves to Broadway.
The 2004 lights on Broadway parade follows the Carol of Lights ceremony at 7:30. The parade begins at Broadway and Avenue S, and will end on the West side of Jones SBC stadium.
