Racer Classic Car Wash raises $40,000 for Covenant Children's Hospital

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

If you live in Lubbock, the next time you get your car washed, you could be helping a child.

Wednesday morning Covenant Children's Hospital received a little extra help for their Children's Center, thanks to Racer Classic Car Wash.

On the first and third Tuesday for the past 16 months, Racer has donated a dollar from every car wash to the center.

The funds will go toward Teen Town and the Family Resource Center.

All together, Racer and their customers raised more than $40,000.

"It is very humbling to be able to present this check and to be a part of such a great organization as Covenant through our partnership with them to raise this money for the teenagers and Children's Center here. It's been great."

But the partnership between Covenant and Racer isn't over yet.

Racer says, "We will continue to raise money and we will continue to give $1 of every car washed at every location, every first and third Tuesday of each month."
