After their mother reported them missing, five Midlands, SC, children were not found until their father directed law enforcement to their bodies in Alabama nearly one week later.

Tim Jones Jr. was arrested in Smith County, MS, on Saturday on an unrelated charge. Then on Tuesday, deputies say he led them to where he dumped the bodies of his children in Wilcox County, AL.

Jones was brought back to Lexington County, SC, on Thursday Sept. 11 to face five counts of murder. Jones was the children's primary legal custodian. Their mother, who is divorced from Jones, was the person who reported them missing Sept. 3.

Lexington County Coroner Earl Wells identified the children as Abigail Elizabeth Jones, 1; Gabriel Jones, 2; Nahtahn Jones, 6; Elias Jones, 7; and Merah Gracie Jones, 8. He ruled their deaths a homicide.
