Two new studies find people who don't sleep enough have imbalanced levels of hormones that regulate appetite...and that short sleepers are more likely to be heavy compared to people who sleep seven or more hours a night.
One study is from Stanford and the other from the University of Chicago. Both tested blood levels of hormones associated with appetite. And basically, both found that a lack of sleep wakes up the hunger hormone.
