Their sauce is delicious, but just as importantly, the health inspection at Eddie's Barbque was flawless and they've only been in business a couple weeks! Putter Wass, co-owner of Eddie's Barbque, says, "We like any restaurant we go to, to be as clean as our own place." It shows. Eddie's (located at 1324 East 50th) had zero critical violations during their last health inspection. That's not bad considering they just opened the day after Thanksgiving!

Putter and fellow co-owner, Eddie DeLavan have been friends for more than 16 years, and cooking up savory barbque for friends and family for many of them. Now, the two buddies are business partners, doing what they do best for paying customers. Eddie says, "It's just the two of us working it. So, it gets intense at lunch."
Opening their own restaurant has always been a dream for Eddie and Putter. The restaurant has a down home Texas feel and friendly atmosphere, thanks to two guys just trying to make a living. Eddie says, "We're gonna work our way through the rest of this month just me and him, get back on our feet. Or get on our feet, not back. We haven't been there yet."
Eddie and Putter hope their secret sauce will rope 'em in a success story. Putter says, "The rub and the sauce we use nobody in town has. I can't give that information out because they'd want to use it. Putter is the pit-master and he says the sauce has a little bit of bite and a little bit of sweetness. That's all NewsChannel 11 could get out of him.
Two other Lubbock restaurants are also top performers. The Kentucky Fried Chicken at 2219 19th street also had a perfect health inspection last week, as did the McDonalds at 102 North University.
