The weather looks nice for an evening at Lubbock's North Pole... as the 48th annual Santa Land opens Friday night. Here's your Sneak Preview!
Santa land is looking good. Kids of all ages can line up through the reindeer to meet Santa and Mrs Claus to share their Christmas wish and pose for a picture.
Several elves from the City of Lubbock were finishing the set up. There are animated displays and traditional holiday scenes for kids of all ages, and there will be live entertainment every night. A 60 foot lighted Christmas tree marks the center of Santa Land, and aside from a $5 picture with the man himself admission is free.
Santa Land is located just off Broadway in Mackenzie Park. It will be open daily from 6 to 10 starting Friday December 10th and continuing through December 23rd. Friday night the opening ceremony will kick off at 5:30 with several City Council members on hand and people from Lubbock and the surrounding communities are invited.
So come on out and enjoy a city wide tradition that's pleased thousands year after year. And you come hungry there's a concession stand with all your favorites like hot chocolate and hot dogs.
