United Blood Services needs your help to meet an ever decreasing blood supply on the South Plains. The 24th Annual KLL Country Christmas Blood Drive began on Monday.
While all blood types are needed UBS says right now there's an urgent need for O Negative blood. The shortage could continue throughout the holidays. When you donate, in the case of this donor, you never know who's life you'll be saving."Well, my aunt almost died in January and she needed platelets and I noticed the blood sack hanging and they were my platelets that I had given the day before," says Kate Byerley who has donated regularly since 2000.
The blood drive will run Monday through Thursday, December 23rd. To donate, you must be in good health, at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Just call United Blood Services at (806) 741-1752 or drop by at 48th and University.
