After hearing testimony requesting a lenient punishment, a Lubbock jury has sentenced Emmanuel Duran to160 days in prison, followed by ten years probation.
Duran was found guilty of intoxicated manslaughter Thursday. 21-year-old Damien Rodriguez died in October of 2001 when he was ejected from Duran's car.
Duran faced up to 20 years in prison. He will begin serving his sentence at the end of December.
