Volunteers Needed This Weekend On The South Plains

8,900 families will be able to eat warm meals during December, thanks to your generosity. But, the South Plains Food Bank still needs your help.

Last week's U-Can Share food drive brought in a total of 548,000 pounds of food, and more than $89,000 in cash. But, what they need right now are volunteers to put together those food boxes. Packaging starts Saturday at 1pm. To help, call the Food Bank at 763-3003.

Lubbock's Salvation Army is also looking for volunteers. After receiving more than 15,000 Angel Tree gifts for needy children, volunteers are now needed to distribute the packages. If you can help, drop by the Salvation Army at 16th and Avenue K. Volunteers are needed Saturday from 9am until 3pm.
