Lubbock County Farmer Starts Fire While Working In Field

A Lubbock County farmer trying to get his cotton harvested ran into some problems Friday. And as bad as it turned out, it could have been much worse.

The farmer was trying to cross the street in his cotton stripper, just south of Shallowater on Frankford when he ran into an electric pole. The wires tangled with his stripper, which then caught fire around 6:30pm Friday evening.

The bundle of cotton in the stripper was damaged, but fortunately, it didn't spread to the field. No one was injured in the accident.
