Weekend Wreck Leaves Family Of Five Hospitalized In Lubbock

Alcohol appears to be responsible for a wreck that sent a family of five to the hospital this weekend.

The accident happened just after 3:30 Sunday morning on I-27 in Abernathy. DPS officials say 37-year-old Keitha Lucus was driving the wrong way on I-27 when she collided head-on with a car. All five people in the car were taken to Covenant Medical Center.

As of Monday evening, 40-year-old Daniel Favila, 9-year-old Diamond and 11-year-old Paul-Anthony are all listed in critical condition. 41-year-old Mary Favila, who is pregnant, and 10-year-old Jonathan are listed in fair condition.

Lucus, is now charged with Driving While Intoxicated in Hale County. Lucus is currently free on bond.
