Lubbock Firefighters are still working to put out a fire in a cotton warehouse in East Lubbock.
The fire broke out at about 2:30pm Tuesday afternoon, when a hot bale of cotton ignited. Since then, fire crews from every station in the city have taken turns fighting the fire. Thousands of cotton bales have already been destroyed. As of 6pm the fire is contained, but it will take some time to put out completely.
The Salvation Army is at the scene - providing meals for the firefighters.
