City Offering to Recycle Christmas Trees

You won't be able to throw out your wrapping paper or trees until Monday as the city's Solid Waste Department will be closed Friday through Sunday. Garbage collection will begin again on Monday.

The City is asking that you do not place Christmas trees in dumpsters or alleys. Instead, the city is offering to recycle your trees, so they can be ground into mulch. However, you will need to remove all plastic, decorations and tree stands before recycling.

You can drop off your trees for recycling 24 hours a day, starting Monday, December 27th through January 15th.

Drop off locations are:

  • 1631 84th St.
  • 208 Municipal Drive
  • 2002 Elmwood

Or you can schedule a time for the Boy Scouts to pick up your trees. Call (806) 741-8110 by January 5th. Boy Scouts will be collecting trees on Saturday, January 8th.
