New information has been released in the plane crash that killed a Lubbock physician on December 17th.
Dr. Mike Marshall was piloting a small plane that crashed in Yellowhouse Canyon, shortly after takeoff from Slaton Municipal Airport. The National Transportation Safety Board has released witness statements. They say the plane rotated upon lift-off and then the canopy popped open. Another witness saw the pilot attempt to turn the plane around before it crashed into a ball of flames.
The exact cause of the crash has not been determined.
