Firefighters remain on the scene of a cotton fire, two days after it started.
Now, they're starting to make progress. Instead of fighting the fire, crews are cleaning up the mess. Fire fighters are using forklifts to move 4,000 bales of burned cotton out of the East Lubbock warehouse.
"We finally got the smoke down enough so we can work all the time but it will probably be another day before we can get everything out of there," said District Fire Chief Lewis Treadell.
The fire started on Tuesday afternoon when a hot bale of cotton ignited and spread to the other bales in the warehouse.
