Air Travelers Will Notice Less Intrusive Security Searches

Snowy weather in the Dallas area is causing several delays at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.

The operations department tells NewsChannel 11 they have had several delays but so far no cancellations. If you're connecting in Dallas, you may run into some problems. Wednesday, American Airlines cancelled 230-flights out of DFW Airport.

If you are flying Thursday or Friday, call the airline before you head out to the airport. While at the airport, you may notice a less "intrusive" process when going through security. Effective Thursday, security screeners can no longer touch women between their breasts when doing pat down searches. Screeners are only allowed to pat-down the perimeter of the chest, backside and abdomen.
