Texas Law Enforcement, including the Lubbock Police Department, will be out in full-force this holiday weekend, making sure you are safe.
There will be additional Lubbock officers out patrolling for impaired and drunk drivers. But it's not only those that are intoxicated that police will be looking for, they will also be on the look-out for people not wearing seat belts.
"Even if you're out and you're not drinking at all, and you're not with someone who's drinking and driving, you don't know who is in the next car. So you always need to wear your seat belt, just as a defensive driver," says Shannon Ramos of Halt Aggressive Driving.
Police say at least six of the people who were killed as the result of a traffic collisions in Lubbock in 2004 was not wearing a seatbelt.
