A lack of donations over the holidays has United Blood Services in dire need of donors.
Increased demand from local hospitals means the supply at UBS is running low. While all blood types are needed, UBS is out of B-negative, and O-negative is in short supply. "We ask the population to come out and make donations to help us through this time and not end up on critical appeal so there will not be postponements in the way of treatments or surgeries," says Les Long of United Blood Services.
There are new hours at U.B.S. It's now open from 9 to 6 on Monday and Wednesday, 11 to 7 on Tuesday and Thursday and 9 to 4 on Friday and Saturday.
You can donate by stopping by UBS at 48th and University or by calling (806) 741-1752. If you donate now through Saturday, you'll get a free 30-day membership to any Bodyworks location.
