A Slaton man will spend 28 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

A Lubbock County Grand Jury handed down Eddie Camargo's sentence late Wednesday afternoon. According to his indictment, Camargo hit his wife with a bat and choked her with a cord inside their Slaton home last April. Camargo was arrested later that night after he tried to drive his car off a cliff near Ransom Canyon.
