Overhauling the Child Protective Services Agency

State leaders are calling for $329 million in funding to overhaul the troubled Child Protective Services Agency. Thursday's plan by the Health and Human Services Commission would add nearly 2,000 new caseworkers and support staff.

Meanwhile, Governor Rick Perry Thursday issued an executive order calling for the creation of a new investigations division inside the agency. He also asked for a 5% raise for workers.
