Freshman State Senator Charles Perry was given a key job last week. Lt. Governor Dan Patrick appointed the senator from Lubbock to be chairman of the Senate Agriculture, Water, and Rural Affairs Committee.
There is no bigger issue in Texas than water and having Perry in this position stands to be great for Texas and specifically West Texas.
Lubbock citizens are paying more for water than ever before. Just look at your water bill. Leading the charge for the state's water needs is a responsibility not for the faint of heart. So congratulations to the senator and best of luck.
