Three planes landed at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport Thursday night with hundreds of Hurricane Rita evacuees. The first plane arrived just before 6pm Thursday. It came unannounced, but Lubbock officials responded immediately. Within minutes Citibuses arrived to transport the evacuees to the shelter at Reese Center.
