LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Football has announced that it will begin spring practice on Feb. 28 and complete its 15 workouts by April 8.
Individual practices dates will be determined on a week-by-week basis in order to accommodate sophomore quarterback Patrick Mahomes' baseball schedule. Mahomes will pitch and play in the outfield for the preseason No. 5 Texas Tech Baseball team this spring.
Due to the replacement of seating inside Jones AT&T Stadium, the annual Spring Game has been canceled and there will be no other open practice opportunities for fans in Lubbock.
Texas Tech will, however, make its third annual trip to Midland on March 28 for an open scrimmage at Grande Communications Stadium. The scrimmage will begin at 11 a.m. and will be televised by Texas Tech TV on Fox Sports. Additional information regarding the Midland scrimmage will be announced at a later date.
