You often hear about high speed police chases. But this weekend, a cooperative effort between the Lubbock Police and Texas Department of Public Safety took the "chase" more than a thousand feet in the air.
Lubbock Police served as tactical flight officers on a DPS helicopter to help arrest a juvenile. Police on the ground reported that a suburban was driving erratically and running stop signs. The people then abandoned the vehicle in the 2400 Block of Avenue O and took off on foot.

Police on board the chopper used a search light and a thermal imaging device to search for the men. One man was located inside a house and taken into custody. Beer was found inside the vehicle, however information on charges is unavailable at this time.
Lubbock Police Captain, Glen Fowler, tells NewsChannel 11 that the helicopter is used regularly for tactical training, such as this.
