NTSB Releases Preliminary Report In Deadly Abernathy Plane Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report in last week's plane crash that killed a Shallowater father and his daughter.

The report claims Timothy Vaughn tried to make an emergency landing East of Abernathy after his engine lost power. A witness flying in the area said the landing gear on Vaughn's plane was down. Vaughn and his 8-year-old daughter Madeline were killed instantly on impact. The crash also caused a fire to break out in the plane's right wing.
