Two Teens Injured When Car Hits Pole - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Speed is believed to be a major factor in an early morning wreck.

Police say they found skid marks ranging about 140-feet near 50th and University. That's where a driver slammed into a utility pole around midnight while apparently trying to turn onto University.

The driver, 19-year-old James Gast of Lubbock is in satisfactory condition at University Medical Center. His passenger, 19-year-old Jose Brunet was treated and released from Covenant Medical Center.
