On Thursday the Lubbock Planning and Zoning Commission came to a decision about an annexation debate.
A farmer in NorthWest Lubbock volunteered his farmland to the city to be annexed. However, 26 other businesses in the area opposed the idea because they wanted to remain in the county.
Following a public hearing Thursday night at City Hall, the commission decided it will recommend to city council that only the farmland be annexed.
