This week's Pay It Forward segment started out near Spur 327 and South Loop 289. We set up with our Pay It Forward sign seeking this week's playmaker.
Shelia Martin and Stephanie Graves were traveling along the access road when they spotted our sign and pulled into the parking lot. Shelia was super excited and ready to participate.
We asked Shelia who she would help if she had $300 to give?
Shelia replied, "It would be my friend Shassidy Harris. She's been dealing with a lot. She got diagnosed with lupus earlier this year, so that would be the person I would help."
We had to surprise Shassidy at a local daycare facility. Shassidy was hard at work with the children at their workplace.
When we arrived, Shassidy was completely shocked. She was totally overwhelmed and had no idea what was happening.
Shelia told her it was Pay It Forward and emotionally counted out $300 to Shassidy.
Shassidy broke down in tears.
We asked Shassidy how this would help her out.
Shassidy told us, "Thank you so much. I don't know what to say with everything I've been through recently."
Be looking for our Pay It Forward sign soon. You may become our next playmaker.
