Kids may also have some vomiting and diarrhea with the flu, something you don't see much in adults. Jane Tustin, Coordinator of Health Services at LISD, says you know you got a problem when even your nurses are calling in sick. "I have probably about four that are out this week so probably by the end of the week I'll have seven different nurses that are sick," says Tustin.
Tustin says if you're getting over a bug, be sure to throw away your toothbrush and remember that frequent hand washing is the best way to protect yourself against infection. Tustin also says teach you kids to cough into the elbow that's better than in the air or in your hand.
