This year is Ralls' 20th annual Cotton Boll festival on September 12. The event is to celebrate Ralls' cotton, which is the town's economic driver.
It draws over a thousand people to the downtown square for multiple family activities: live music, craft and food booths, a car show and eve a quilt raffle made by a Ralls quilting club.
They host the Cotton Boll Queen Pageant where they recognize a Miss Cotton Boll, a Mr. & Mrs. Cotton Boll, and even a Cotton Seed for the babies.
To wrap it all up, there is a street dance that night under the downtown pavilion.
The Chamber of Commerce uses the profits from the event to buy food and gifts for underprivileged children in Ralls during Christmas.
"We try to build up the businesses here in Ralls," said chamber of commerce manager Giselle Brock. "We try to hold events downtown so we will pull people downtown to our area to see what a good little community that we are."
