RALLS, TX (KCBD) - One Ralls native has found a way to become a successful businesswoman without having relocate from the small town she loves.
Patti Arthur owns and operates Name Dropper – an embroidery center and gift shop that thrives off walk-ins and internet sales.
But her shop is home to a lot more than good deals.
In her spare time, she volunteers with Loaves and Fishes, a Meals on Wheels program in Ralls.
The groups pick up the food from the Senior Citizen's center in Lorenzo and then meets at the Name Dropper.
From there, they split into groups and routes to delivery nourishment to the needy.
"Some of their faces light up because maybe they haven't seen anyone all week," Patti said, "and that's the only person they've seen that day and it will be the only person they ever see that day."
When delivering meals last week, one woman on the route told the volunteers she "loved them" because they take care of her and give her someone to see everyday when she is sick.
While the volunteers are doing everything they can right now to help these senior citizens, the goal is to one day raise enough money to build a Ralls Senior Citizen Center.
Loaves and Fishes could use your help and donations to spread more nourishment and cheer around their community.
