Nearly 500 miles. That's how far KCBD traveled to bring you its 15th annual Live Community Coverage Tour this past week.
It has been our pleasure. It's such a joy to watch the stories from our surrounding towns.
We traveled to Ralls, Hale Center, Muleshoe, Plains and Tahoka.
Inside each town, hundreds of genuine, down to earth West Texas people. These are people who work hard, play hard and truly care for one another.
There's the lone nurse practitioner who takes care of up to 30 people a day in Plains.
There's the Barrett family which produces 1,000 truck loads of potatoes each year in Muleshoe.
And there's the Hale Center couple who beautified its town with 20 murals. Good people, West Texas people.
How many times have you been asked the question, Why do you live here? For most of you, I bet the answer is the people.
I want to say thank you every employee at KCBD that makes the tour look so easy and to the men and women of Ralls, Hale Center, Muleshoe, Plains and Tahoka.
You opened up your arms. You shared your stories. And none of this would be possible without our loyal sponsors who help us bring you this event. 500 miles? That's nothing. We'll travel a thousand miles if it reminds all of us why it's good to live in West Texas.
