A Lubbock man accused of murder took the stand in his own defense Thursday.
Antonio Coronado said he and two others went to Frank Ramirez's house to buy beer. He said he had no idea Sylvester Garcia had a gun or any plans to cause trouble. But that testimony contradicted earlier statements Coronado gave police.
Sylvester Garcia also testified and took complete responsibility for the murder. He is currently serving a 40-year prison sentence for the crime.
Timothy Garcia is still awaiting trial. Thursday, he took the stand and claimed to know nothing about what happened that night.
All three men were charged in the shooting death of Frank Ramirez in 2003. The trial continues Friday.
