A two week search for a murder suspect has come to an end. 21-year-old Justin Lewayne Davis was arrested at 10:30pm Wednesday in Clovis, New Mexico.
The arrest was part of a surveillance sting set up by the Lubbock Police, Clovis Police, New Mexico State Department, U.S. Marshals and the Texas Rangers. Public Information Officer, Lt. Roy Bassett said, "He was actually trying to disguise himself with a blonde wig, however people on the scene were able to see through that pretty quickly. They approached Mr. Davis and served the warrant without incident."
Davis was also with a woman believed to be his girlfriend. She was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance, and will face charges in New Mexico.
Davis, meanwhile, is in U.S. marshal custody and is awaiting extradition to Texas. A Lubbock Grand Jury indicted Davis this past Tuesday. He is charged with the murder of 20-year-old Martreon Moore last December.
