Saturday Named "John Gladden Day"

The Lubbock City Council proclaimed Saturday as "John Gladden Day."

Dr. Gladden was the first superintendent for the Lubbock State School. A memorial celebration was held at the school Saturday in his honor.

He served as superintendent at the school for 18 years.
