A semi-truck driver lead four different police agencies on a high speed chase through two separate counties. Matthew Tinkler has landed here at Lubbock county jail after getting behind the wheel while he was high on drugs. Tinkler hit a moving car then called 911 on himself telling police he wasn't going to stop, and they couldn't catch him, but catch him they did.
NewsChannel 11 caught up with Abernathy police after chasing Tinkler in his semi-truck nearly 20-miles on I-27. Tinkler was coming from Colorado to Lubbock when he ran into another car near Hale Center.
Police arrested Tinkler when he pulled off at the Shallowater exit. Tinkler was tested for narcotics, and DPS believes he was high on methamphetamine.
Matthew Tinkler is being charged with DWI, evading arrest, and failure to stop and render aid.
