Parking or loitering at a Lubbock business after it has closed is now a misdemeanor. On Friday, Lubbock City Council members passed an ordinance that allows businesses to post "No Parking or Loitering" signs on their property. Anyone who violates the ordinance in a parking lot where signs are posted will be ticketed and face a fine up to $200.
The ordinance stems from complaints of broken beer bottles and trash at businesses along 82nd St. It goes into effect immediately.
