Lubbock City Council Bans Electronic Sign Permits For Six Months

City of Lubbock officials say safety is behind a new temporary ban on electronic signs.

Tuesday morning, the city council cited motorists attention when approving the 6-month ban. Officials fear that drivers will watch the messages instead of the road.

City leaders also said some of the current regulations are hard to enforce, so they will spend the next six months trying to amend them.
