In Austin Wednesday, the Texas House has approved limits on salaries for school superintendents.
The vote came as lawmakers resumed debate on school finance reform. The provision would limit a superintendent's pay to four times the salary of the district's highest paid teacher. NewsChannel 11 did some checking and found out that Lubbock ISD would be in compliance, should this become law.
LISD Superintendent Wayne Havens makes $200,000 a year and there are several teachers who make more than a fourth of that salary.
