Consider This: Lubbock comes through for U Can Share food drive

The 33rd annual U Can Share food drive wrapped last week with Lubbock and the South Plains surpassing all goals.

Thank you, for raising more than 335,000 pounds of food and $125,000 for the South Plains Food Bank. This will directly benefit people in 20 counties across our area.

People helping people is the most efficient and effective way to deliver aid to those who need it the most.

KCBD is proud to have started the U Can Share food drive 33 years ago, but our involvement is only a small part. It's what you do, Lubbock, through thousands of individual and corporate donations, that makes this a success.

If you missed your chance to be a part of "U Can Share" last week, it isn't too late.

Bring your canned food or monetary donations by our station at 56th and Ave. A and I will make sure they are delivered to the South Plains Food Bank.
