Councilman Price Discusses City Issues With District Two Residents

Lubbock city leaders met with residents of district two Thursday night. About six people showed up to the town hall meeting at 66th and Avenue P.

Councilman Floyd Price reminded residents about city ordinances and warned them about public health issues. Specifically, Price mentioned the new meth ordinance that requires pharmacies to keep certain cold medicines behind the counter.

Price also advised parents that HIV could be spreading through the Lubbock student population. So teens should take advantage of free testing at the Lubbock Health Department.

An HIV positive student may have had unprotected sex with other students. Now, the City of Lubbock Health Department is urging all junior high and high school students to get tested for HIV.
