Alabama fans swarm to local businesses for National Championship gear

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) – After Monday night’s Alabama National Championship win over Clemson 45-40, Roll Tide Nation rolled out to local businesses looking for championship gear.

At the Academy Sports and Outdoors in Auburn, hundreds of fans made their way to the store after the game to pick up their piece of history.

Academy was ready for the rush with dozens of boxes of memorabilia out in the back, but were prepared to send them back if they lost.

Thanks to some Nick Saban trickery on special teams fans were able to walk in screaming “Roll Ride!”

This marks 16 National Championships for Alabama, four of those coming in the last 7 years.

Nick Saban has a reputation for being a no-nonsense type of guy, but that doesn't mean the coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide can't soften up and have a good time every now and then. Especially when a good cause is involved.
