There is new information in the investigation at Dunbar Historical Lake in NorthEast Lubbock.
Biologists confirm Golden Algae is killing hundreds of fish. NewsChannel 11 first brought you the story on Thursday. Biologist Joan Glass with Texas Parks and Wildlife tested water and fish from the playa lake. Tests showed a high concentration of golden algae in the water.
Treatment is not available, so the city will let the algae run its course. Officials warn Buffalo Springs Lake to be on the lookout as the algae could spread.
