Wolfforth voters will cast their vote on legalizing on-site alcohol sales on May 7th.
Monday morning, Lubbock County Commissioners gave final approval to a petition to put the issue to a vote. 214 registered voters signed the petition in effort to bring a minor league baseball team to the city.
"For the City of Wolfforth it will help them bring in the baseball team they want and also allow them to have restaraunts and new hotels that are going to be built there," said Dorothy Kennedy, Lubbock County Elections Administrator.
The election will be held May 7th and early voting will run April 20th through May 3rd. Right now, there is only one restaurant in Wolfforth that will be effected should on-site alcohol be legalized there.
