Terry Vo jumped up for a super slam dunk at a birthday party, but when he came down both his hands and a foot were severed when the backboard came down with him pulling the wall that supported it.
Thanks to some quick thinking adults at that party in Australia, his hands and foot were placed in a container of ice and rushed with him to the hospital. All were attached in eight hours of complex micro-surgery and skin grafting.
Today, this announcement from his surgeon. "He will play sports again. The important point being that of course to get him walking properly and to get his hands moving properly. But yes, I think he will play sports," says Dr. Robert Love, a plastic surgeon.
All three limbs were shortened by about an inch and a half during the procedure, but Dr. Love says terry should be able to do anything he wants to do.
