LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The man accused of killing Mark Ysasaga was in court Thursday.

Investigators say new evidence discovered last summer connected him to the crime.

On Thursday, his defense asked a judge to give them access to the home in Tech Terrace where authorities found that evidence.

They also asked for access to the property in south Lubbock County where investigators discovered Ysasaga's remains.

The judge granted both requests.

Simental remains in the Lubbock County Jail on a $1 million bond.
