Tech Regents Approve Tuition Increase

Texas Tech students will be paying more to go to college next semester.

NewsChannel 11 told you about the proposed increases last month. Thursday, the Tech Board of Regents approved a $3 per credit hour increase in tuition for next fall. Students can also expect the state to raise tuition, $2. That means a 15 hour class-load will increase $75.Fees will also go up another $76.75 for a total increase of $150.75.

University President Jon Whitmore calls the increases necessary to hire 100 new faculty members and increase scholarship and research funding.
