Lubbock Police Say Alcohol Involved In Bicycle, Car Crash - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Lubbock Police say alcohol contributed to an accident between a bicyclist and car.

The accident happened just after 5pm Friday at 50th & Wayne. Police say Jerry Wayne Smith was trying to cross 50th Street, but failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming car. That's when a Ford Focus hit Smith on his bicycle.

Smith was taken to University Medical Center and was listed in critical condition as of 10pm. Police say Smith had been drinking.
